Die Roten Bullen were unrewarded for their efforts in a 0-0 draw with FC Augsburg on Saturday. After a relatively languid and balanced opening 15 minutes, the hosts began to take control of the game, and had two clear chances in the first half. The first of these fell to Matheus Cunha, who shot from six yards at Augsburg custodian Gregor Kobel, but his shot was well-saved. Just two minutes later, an unmarked Timo Werner headed over, missing a great chance on his return to the starting XI. Both sides went into the break on equal terms.
In the second half, RBL took full control and put the visitors under increased pressure. Despite a number of big chances, Die Roten Bullen were unable to put them away. Augsburg held on for a point, as the game ended in a goalless draw.
Yussuf Poulsen missed out due to a calf problem, while Diego Demme is still sidelined due to illness. Timo Werner returned to the starting XI following a two-match absence.
