Timo Werner named in Germany's provisional World Cup squad

Germany head coach Joachim Löw selects Timo Werner in 27-man provisional squad | Team heading to training camp in South Tyrol | Final squad to be named by 4th June

Timo Werner is in Germany's provisional World Cup squad. Joachim Löw announced his 27-man shortlist at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon. The RBL striker will join up with his Die Mannschaft teammates for a training camp in South Tyrol from 23rd June.

However, it is still not confirmed that Werner will go to the World Cup in Russia (14th June - 15th July). The Germany coach has until 4th June to finalse his 23-man squad.

It was already confirmed on Monday that Yussuf Poulsen is also in his nation's provisional World Cup squad, with Werner's fellow Leipzig striker named in Denmark's 35-man shortlist.

Werner has scored seven goals from his twelve Germany caps so far
