"The clean sheet is especially important"

Ralph Hasenhüttl, Péter Gulácsi, Willi Orban, Diego Demme and Bernardo assess Saturday's win over Werder Bremen.

Ralph Hasenhüttl

"Bremen put in a courageous performance and caused us a number of problems at the back. We didn't execute our counterpressing game as well as we did against Monaco for example, but we got the job done. Taking three points from today's game was an important step for us.

"We've picked up four wins and a draw in the Bundesliga in matches following a Champions League game, which is a brilliant record. We've managed to remain focused each time.

"I'm happy with the clean sheet too. It does Pete and the whole defence the world of good. I'm also very impressed with Dayot's development; he's incredibly important to us with his pace, because he's always capable of getting back and clearing the danger in the last second."

Péter Gulácsi

"You could see the quality that this Bremen team have. They're such a danger on the counter, something we didn't quite get right today. It was definitely a hard-fought victory. It certainly wasn't easy to switch focus after the game in Monaco, so it's even better to have gotten the three points today.

"The clean sheet is especially important. It's been a while since we last got one. The defence worked well and now we have to remain focused and carry along this path."

Willi Orban

"It was hard work, but over the 90 minutes, it's a deserved victory. We defended well against a good attacking side and got our third clean sheet of the season, so we can be happy with our performance.

"The Champions League has often been touted as our big challenge this season, but that's not the case. The big hurdle is coping with the day-to-day of the Bundesliga and continuing to pick up points alongside playing on the huge stage that is the Champions League. We've now got 13 points from matches following on from European fixtures, and we can be really proud of that."

Diego Demme

"We were solid defensively and really nipped Bremen's attacks in the bud in the second half. It's a good job that Bernardo added that second goal; it really eased the pressure. It was a good performance and just like every game, we were on board emotionally the whole way."

"It was a difficult game, just like so many in the Bundesliga. When you've played midweek, it takes its toll on you as a player. Nevertheless, it's vital that we remain focused for every match.

"I've been waiting a long time to score my first Bundesliga goal, so I'm thrilled to have finally got it."
