Ralph Hasenhüttl looks ahead to 1. FC Köln match

Ralph Hasenhüttl looks ahead to the game against 1. FC Köln | Uncertainty whether Werner and Kampl will play | Naby Keita suspended for one more game | 750 RBL fans to travel to support the team.

Back to the Bundesliga! After the Champions League game in Istanbul, Leipzig are now looking forward to Bundesliga Matchday 7, when we face 1. FC Köln on Sunday (18:00).

Currently, we will have around 750 RBL fans travelling with us to the Rheinland. Tickets for the RBL section will be available until 16:00 on Sunday.
See below all the important statements from the press conference and all the team news ahead of the game.

Ralph Hasenhüttl:

"On the weekend we need to defend better than we did last time out, so that we can finally keep a clean sheet. If we have to come back from behind when playing away, we are making life very difficult for ourselves – particularly as luck has not been on our side in our away games up to now. It is important to get back some of the stability that we demonstrated last season. Then we will be able to start coming out on top in close games.
I am expecting the game in Köln to be a battle. Köln have also not had a great week in Europe. It now depends on who has learnt their lessons. We never underestimate anyone, even though Köln are going through a rough patch.
But Köln had a good match on Thursday in the Europa League, and the league standings will have no effect on the game on Sunday."

  • Naby Keita misses out due to the final game of his suspension
  • Kevin Kampl trained on Friday as he is recovering from an ankle problem.
  • Timo Werner is trying to recover from a problem with his circulation.
  • Felix Zwayer will referee the game
