The international break is here! All-in-all, there are eleven Leipzig players jetting off to meet up with their respective national teams:

Emil Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen will be playing in World Cup play-offs, while Timo Werner, Marcel Halstenberg, Marcel Sabitzer, Bruma and Philipp Köhn are in international friendly action. Lukas Klostermann, Konrad Laimer and Dayot Upamecano will contest qualifiers for the 2019 European U21 Championship.
After consulting with the Hungary national coach, Péter Gulácsi will not be travelling with the squad this time, while Yvon Mvogo is on standby for the Switzerland squad.

Thanks to a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland, Germany guaranteed qualification to the World Cup in Russia, before wrapping up their campaign with a tenth win in ten games against Azerbaijan.
Jogi Löw’s team have two friendlies scheduled for the upcoming international break. On Friday, they face England in London (0-0), and then they play France in Cologne the following Tuesday.
This is Marcel Halstenberg’s first time making it into Die Mannschaft squad, and he will be joined by Timo Werner.

Austria won their last qualifier against Moldova, but despite the victory, Marcel Sabitzer & co. had no chance of qualifying for the World Cup. On Tuesday, Marcel Kolller’s team will play a friendly against Uruguay in Vienna.
Meanwhile, Konrad Laimer will be lining up for the Austria U21s for their European Championship qualifiers. He lost the first game 3-1 against Serbia, whilst they are away to Macedonia on Tuesday.

With their 2-0 win over Switzerland, Portugal secured first place in their group, and thereby qualified for the World Cup. Our forward, Bruma has been called up to the Portugal first team for the first time, and will be involved in Portugal’s two friendlies. On Friday they beat Saudi Arabia 3-0 in Viseu, with the USA the opponents in Leiria on Tuesday.
