"We're obviously disappointed not to have won today. We implemented our game plan superbly early on, but we failed to get a second goal and allowed our opponents to get back into the match. We lost our rhythm after that.
"We tried to increase the tempo significantly in the second half, but that wasn't easy against a team that sits so deep. The boys showed character and fought hard, but we weren't incisive enough and our decision-making wasn't good enough to create the number of chances we needed. All in all, we were short of the mark today."
"We kept them at bay after our goal and should have added a second soon after. The game would have gone very differently if we had. We failed to make it 2-0 though, and that gave HSV belief and allowed them back into the game. Hamburg defended very well in the second half in particular. Sadly we didn't have enough ideas to break them down.
"We can't let our heads drop. We need to be more clinical. We often find ourselves 1-0 in front and fail to add a second. We need to work on that if we want to become a top team."
"We had a very good opening quarter of an hour; we were aggressive going forward and put Hamburg under pressure. That slowly dwindled as the game went on though. The equaliser was unfortunate, but it wouldn't have mattered if we had got that second goal.
"We weren't creative enough against a very deep opponent. We will have to go over that and improve next time. We went into the game full of intent, but we weren't penetrative enough and have to take the point."
"We started well and got an early goal. Unfortunately, we missed a big chance to make it 2-0 and conceded the equaliser soon after. Things didn't come easy to us during that phase. We needed to dust ourselves down and rediscover our creativity.
"You obviously expect a new coach to breathe new life into a team, but we have to be expecting more of ourselves and ought to be able to break down a defensive setup like that today."
