A hugely important away win for Die Roten Bullen in Gladbach, as Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men snatch a late goal to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-0. New signing Ademola Lookmam came off the bench in the 88th minute, before grabbing the winning goal ten minutes later.
There were just two clear-cut chances in the first half, as both teams cancelled each other out with a disciplined defensive display. The game opened up in the second half, with more chances at both end. In the end, it was Lookman who broke the deadlock with a fine goal in the 89th minute.
• Head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl made just one change the team from our last outing – Naby Keita returning to the starting XI after recovering from his cold. Jean-Kévin Augustin, meanwhile, started on the bench.
• Right back Lukas Klostermann lined up at left back, as Konrad Laimer retained his spot at right back.
• Ademola Lookman was straight into the scored and celebrated a dream debut, scoring the winner after coming on.
• Emil Forsberg and Marcel Halstenberg both missed out with an injury.
