"I can't remember a game where we've gotten into the box as much and taken so many shots from close in without scoring. The team never gave up, even when we went a man down. Sometimes there are days where you simply aren't rewarded for your efforts.
"It would have been good to end with a win and be the best of the third-placed sides that enter the Europa League, but sadly that didn't work out. Nevertheless, we can be very happy with our group-stage performance and look forward to the Europa League!"
"We gave it our all today and really put our heart into it, hoping that somehow we could still reach the next round. It's frustrating to have got the equaliser with ten men, but then to have conceded again. We can only learn from games like that. We wanted to bow out with our heads held high, and we've done that.
"We didn't have luck on our side when it came to finishing today. However, you have to take your hat off to Besiktas, particularly their goalkeeper. We had the chances, but we failed to take them."
"We should have equalised earlier in the game, but we weren't clinical enough. Still, it was a good first Champions League campaign for us.
"The atmosphere in the stadium was incredible, beginning with the tifo, and then carrying on throughout the 90 minutes. A big 'thank you' to the fans, who have really helped push us."
"I'm unbelievably proud to become the club's record player. Playing for RB Leipzig in the Champions League has always been my dream.
I've always felt the support of the fans over the years here at Leipzig. The reception when I came on gave me goosebumps. The result is obviously frustrating though; we could have taken more from the game."
