"The next mammoth task stands before us"

Ralph Hasenhüttl discusses the upcoming game away at Augsburg | Naby Keita suspended | Dayot Upamecano and Lukas Klostermann to be rested

It's time for third game in seven days! Tuesday will see Die Roten Bullen travel to Augsburg to play a side that sit just one place behind them in the lead in seventh.

… likely squad rotation:

"We've had a very quick turnaround between games with only a couple of free day. Therefore we will need to bring in fresh legs. We'll be giving a break to the boys who have played all the game up until now. Dayou Upamecano and Lukas Klostermann will therefore likely sit this one out.

Willi Orban, Marcel Halstenberg and Marcel Sabitzer will be back on Tuesday. Timo Werner is also fit and in superb form. You cannot leave a man like that out of your squad. But we'll have a chat with Timo to see how he's doing and decided then how much he will play."

… dropped points in the last game:

"We put so much into the last two games and covered a lot of ground, and we could have won both games. Now we have to find a way to turn these performances into results that favour us.

We have done a lot right in the past few weeks, but not quite everything. We should for example be making the mistake leading to goals that we have been. If we can eradicate those errors then we will start to have more success.“

… FC Augsburg:

"A very good, electric atmosphere is waiting for us - we know that from last year. Augsburg will do everything they can to try and get points of us. Therefore it will be another mammoth task for us. I expect to face a team who will stay compact, defend deep and look to hurt us on the counter. We will need to try and find a way round all of these things."

  • Naby Keita will be suspended. How many games he will miss because of his red card is yet to be determined.
  • Dayot Upamecano and Lukas Klostermann are likely to not travel to Augsburg.
