“We’re looking forward to a great game!”

Ralph Hasenhüttl gives his thoughts about the upcoming home game against FC Augsburg | Emil Forsberg is not yet available

Under the lights in the Red Bull Arena! On Friday night at 20:30 CET Leipzig will kick off against seventh in the table FC Augsburg.

Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl spoke in his press conference about how he expects Augsburg to approach the game and the injury updates coming in to the match.

Ralph Hasenhüttl

“The match on Friday is up there with one of our biggest of the season. Augsburg are performing extremely well this season and come off the back of an impressive 3-0 home victory against Frankfurt.
We expect Augsburg to sit deep but be aggressive. Their attacking play is simple but effective and when they get in the box they are very dangerous. We will have to be wary of them on the counter but we will be well drilled.
I’m sure it will be a lively match. Inside the stadium will definitely be cold but the atmosphere will more than make up for that!”

Team news:

  • Emil Forsberg is back in first team training but will not yet be ready to make his return on Friday.
  • Marcel Sabitzer trained individually on Tuesday because of a slight cold but was back in first team training on Wednesday.
  • Marcel Halstenberg is absent due to his long-term cruciate ligament injury.
  • Sven Jablonski, from Bremen, will referee the game. The 27-year-old has previously officiated four Leipzig games, of which we have won two and drawn two.
