Home game against our table-neighbours! On matchday 31 of the Bundesliga, Leipzig play host to TSG Hoffenheim, with the game kicking off this Saturday at 15:30 CEST. The Red-Bull-Arena is sold out, as fans are hoping to see RBL beat their European football competitors.
Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl spoke to the media in the pre-match press conference to give his thoughts on the upcoming match and the current teams news.
- "It has done us some good to train a little bit below our maximum this week. We have the opportunity to ramp things up for the last four weeks of the season, so we need to make sure we are fully focussed. We must use this time effecitvely; roll our sleeves up and sort out any mistakes.
"TSG have been more stable and more compact in the second half of the season. When we have the ball we need to be better prepared to deal with any counter attacks and need to nip any TSG breaks in the bud. We have learnt a few lessons from the game earlier in the season, which was no doubt our worst match."
"We want to celebrate another great footballing event together with the fans on Saturday - I'm really looking forward to it! We all know that we need to win against TSG, they are one of our direct competitors and so we need to be at our best.
- Dayot Upemecano (hamstring strain) and Naby Keita (back) have both been in individual training this week. Whether they will be available for Saturday is still unclear.
- Diego Demme and Willi Orban are both one yellow card away from a suspension.
- Marcel Sabitzer (dislocated shoulder) was successfully operated on on Wednesday. The forward will however be out for the remaining games of the season.
