"A win would be a huge step towards the knockout stages!"

Ralph Hasenhüttl and Bernardo look ahead to the away game at FC Porto | Naby Keita's status still up in the air | Stefan Ilsanker is also a doubt for the game | 1,100 fans have travelled to Porto

Expedition Europa goes on! FC Porto will welcome Die Roten Bullen on matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League, with 1,100 fans expected to make the trip.

Ralph Hasenhüttl and defensive all-rounder Bernardo spoke to the media ahead of the game about the task ahead of them and also gave some updates on the squad.

 Ralph Hasenhüttl:

"If we want to progress in this competition, we have to come away with something from Porto. A win would be a huge step in the right direction.

We have to play much better in Porto than we did in Istanbul. It's not good enough to only turn up after we've gone down a goal. However, we do have to be careful, because they will try really hard to score from the outset.

My team knows what they have to do on Wednesday. Everyone has to be up to the task, no matter the position. We have to put our own stamp on the game. We can't just sit back, we have to push forward as much as we can."

Bernardo:

"We played very well against Porto in the home fixture, so I'm confident that we're more than capable of doing that again. We want to come back home with points above all else.

FC Porto have some world class players like Moussa Marega and Felipe. We all know that this game won't be a cakewalk, because Porto are a very strong side. Nevertheless, we're here to win."

Personnel:

  • Naby Keita is still suffering from a shin problem, so his place in the squad will be decided closer to the game.
  • Stefan Ilsanker will miss the game in Porto. The midfielder is still recovering from a broken toe.
  • Apart from that, all other players are available.
  • The game's referee will be Romania's Ovidiu Hategan.
