6-2 win in Berlin sees RBL qualify for the Europa League

Die Roten Bullen confirmed sixth-place finish | DFB-Pokal final to decide entry point | Jean-Kévin Augustin (22'/54'), Dayot Upamecano (2'), Ademola Lookman (8'), Timo Werner (43') and Bruma (82') score the goals.

Europe, here we come again! Die Roten Bullen secured European qualification for a second consecutive season thanks to a thrilling 6-2 win away at Hertha BSC on matchday 34. A class performance from our boys, who finish the season in sixth place to qualify for the Europa League.

It took barely two minutes before Dayot Upamecano headed Leipzig into the lead, but the hosts hit back immediately when Vedad Ibisevic headed level two minutes later. Things got even crazier when Ademola Lookman made it three goals in the opening eight minutes to restore the lead. Die Roten Bullen increased their pressure and added a third through Jean-Kévin Augustin in the 22nd minute.

The Frenchman double his tally and made it four shortly after the restart, before Timo Werner got in on the action in the 54th minute. Salomon Kalou pulled one back for Berlin, but it would be Bruma who scored the final goal (82') to wrap up a 6-2 victory - our biggest Bundesliga win.

Europa League qualification:

Should FC Bayern win the DFB-Pokal next Saturday, we will qualify directly for the UEFA Europa League group stage, starting mid-September.

However, if Eintracht Frankfurt win, our season will begin at the end of July in the UEFA Europa League second qualification round.
