Leipzig remain unbeaten for the sixth game in a row. The boys win 3-2 (1-0) in Hannover, taking all three points back with them in what is an important step in the battle for European football.
Ralph Hasenhüttl and his side started full of confidence and fired themselves in the lead after 16 minutes through Emil Forsberg, after having been set up perfectly by Timo Werner.
In the second half, RBL were equally as dominant, getting their second early on through captain Willi Orban. Yussuf Poulsen kept the two goal cushion and Leipzig's third as the scores were 3-1 going into the closing stages.
The hosts refused to give up however with substiture Niclas Füllkrug getting their second and even though he though he got their third, it was deemed to be offside by the video officials.

The three points are massively important for us and I'm glad we have been rewarded for our efforts away from home. We are fully aware however that we will need to be stronger at the back in the coming weeks. It seems to happen too often that we go in front but then get pegged back, which throws the cat amongst the pigeons.
"Hannover made the best of their chances and put us under pressure. It was really hectic for a while but then we composed ourselves and got the result we wanted. At the end it was all smiles."
- Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl made five changes to the side that started against Bayern Munich, with Bernardo, Willi Orban, Emil Forsberg, Timo Werner and Jean-Kévin Augustin all coming into the side.
- Yussuf Poulsen got his fourth Bundesliga goal of the season, meanwhile Emil Forsberg and Willi Orban got their second and third respectively.
- Timo Werner assisted twice, which were his fifth and sixth for the season. Naby Keita also got his fifth.
- Captain Willi Orban played his 50th Bundesliga game for the club.
- Stefan Ilsanker was not in the squad because of a slight knee injury.
First bit of action in the Hannover box. Emil Forsberg attacks from the right and loops it up to the back post where Bruma is waiting. His header however is tame and does not trouble Tschauner in the Hannover goal.
16th minute: GOOOAAALLLL for RBL!!!
Jean-Kévin Augustin latches onto a loose ball and lays it on to Timo Werner who is careering down the right-hand side with menace, heading towards the Hannover box. In the middle is Emil Forsberg. Werner finds him and from there Emil slots it home.
Hannover forced into their first change as Waldemar crashes into the post trying to prevent the first goal.
Hannover's Julian Korb tries with an acrobatic effort but can't get the power or the direction on the effort.
Good chance for the second goal! Naby Keita sets off on the counter, finding Werner in the centre. The German is in space close to the goal but fires his effort into the side netting.
Just before the whistle Bernardo looks to be free from a corner but his header sails over the bar. The boys go into the changing room in full command of this game.
Bernardo crosses from the left to Werner. A good turn gives him a clear run on goal, 1-on-1 with the keeper but his effort hits the side netting.
54th minute: GOOOALLLLLL for Leipzig!!
Forsberg plays a short corner to Keita, who gets his head up and puts it in the miixer. From there, Orban climbs highest and with a strong header, gets it over the Hannover keeper and nestles it into the net.
First change for Leipzig. Marcel Sabitzer comes on for Bruma on the wing.
Second change, Poulsen replaces Augustin.
71st minute: Goal for Hannover
Salif Sané gets it straight from a corner. Hannover take a step towards levelling things up.
76th minute: GOOOAAAAALLLLL for RBL!!!
Werner beats Sané down the left-hand side and plays Poulsen in in the middle. From there the Dane makes no mistake and pokes it home for his fourth of the season.
78th minute: Goal for Hannover
The hosts are still fighting back. A cross from the right find Niclas Füllkrug in the middle, who heads it in.
Final change for Leipzig, Upamecano comes on for Werner.
The Hannover fans celebrate a goal but the referee reviews the decision and decides that Füllkrug was standing in an offside position from Pirmin Schwegler's pass. The play is brought back and the score stands at 3-2.
A hectic final phase to the game. The game became more end-to-end as it went on but at the final whistle it's RBL who take the points home to Leipzig.
