Tonight’s game in Frankfurt was an eventful one! In a tightly contested fixture, Eintracht Frankfurt ran out 2-1 winners which means Leipzig now find themselves in fifth spot in the Bundesliga table.

It was a high intensity game from the get-go. From the off, Leipzig impressed and Jean-Kévin Augustin scored the first goal of the game with the first clear cut opportunity in the 122th minute. Frankfurt responded almost immediate with Timothy Chandler (22’) and Kevin-Prince Boateng scoring to turn the game on its head. The hosts took their 2-1 lead into half-time.

In the second half, Frankfurt became more aggressive as they sought to prevent Leipzig from building momentum. Leipzig built up more and more pressure on the Frankfurt goal as the half went on but were unable to find a crucial equaliser to snatch a point.
