A headline clash in Leipzig! On Saturday at 18:30 CET, RB Leipzig take on Borussia Dortmund in a sold out Red Bull Arena. Prior to the game, head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl spoke to the press about their opposition and gave an update on the squad's fitness.
- "We're in a great position at the moment. On Saturday, we face a direct rival for the Champions League spots and have put ourselves in a good spot to achieve our goals. We're full of beans and raring to go on Saturday, even though it won't be easy. The crucial thing for us is making sure close games swing in our favour.
By changing head coach, Dortmund have regained some stability. Under Peter Stöger, they've gone back up to second place and are nine games unbeaten. The team is definitely more compact defensively. We have to prevent them from hitting us when possession is turned over. BVB have a lot of quality in their squad. However, we still have the opportunity to cause Dortmund problems.
On Saturday, we don't just need to put in a top performance but we have to play calmy. Against a team like Dortmund, you need everything to go right for you including luck. In recent weeks, we've had some tough tasks and we've shown we can play smart. We need to do that against Dortmund. It's a serious challenge but we're ready to put up a fight!"
- Naby Keita has rejoined team training and is an option for Saturday.
- Konrad Laimer has recovered from a minor illness.
