Time for Die Roten Bullen to look back on 2017/18 by reviewing the best statistics and numbers from the campaign just gone | Here are the best Top three lists from the Bundesliga, Europa League and overall.

RB Leipzig fought on four fronts throughout the course of 2017/18 – the Bundesliga, Champions League, Europa League and the DFB-Pokal. It was a challenging campaign with exciting contests, emotional moments and special performances from the Leipzig boys. At the season end, Die Roten Bullen were sixth in the Bundesliga table, and have qualified for the Europa League qualifying round, meaning Leipzig will fight on the European stage for a second successive season.

Bundesliga

34 matches, 23 players used

No one played more Bundesliga games in Die Roten Bullen colours than Péter Gulácsi, who played 2,970 minutes in total (from a maximum 3,060), completing every league game but one. This allowed the Hungarian to establish himself as one of the best keepers in the league. Top scorer Timo Werner was next, playing a total of 2,493 minutes, while Diego Demme was the next most active player domestically, playing 2,286 minutes overall.  

Emil Forsberg was the second best dribbler in the league behind Max Philipp at Dortmund. The Swede was successful with 53.3% of his runs with the ball at his feet as well as creating on average 2.44 chances every 90 minutes, the third best record in the league. Timo Werner was also third in the most shots at goal per game category with 1.47 efforts every 90 minutes. Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski led this category with 2.21 attempts on goal.

RB in Europe

Peter Gulásci was ever present on the European stage as well, playing all six Champions League and Europa League games (a total of 1,080 minutes).

Dayot Upamecano and Lukas Klostermann both played eleven games, with the former playing the most minutes of the outfield players (966), while the latter played 912 minutes throughout the campaign.

Just as in the Bundesliga, Timo Werner was the side’s top goalscorer, finding the net seven times during Expedition Europa.
