International break round-up

13 RBL players on international duty | 15 friendlies and seven U21 EURO qualifiers | Naby Keita and Marcel Sabitzer ruled out with injuries | Stefan Ilsanker returns to Leipzig early

World Cup preparation and European qualifiers were on the agenda during the March international break. All 32 teams taking part in the summer's tournament in Russia tested the water during the last week or so, while U21 teams were after important points in their quest to qualify for the European Under-21 Championship in Italy.

Marcel Sabitzer was not involved after tearing a ligament in his ankle during the match against FC Bayern München. Naby Keita was also forced to withdraw from international duty with a bruised spine.

Stefan Ilsanker also pulled out of Austria's squad with a knee strain.

    Our top goalscorer Timo Werner was in Germany's starting XI to face Spain and came off in the 84th minute.

    Timo came on in the 81st minute but could not prevent the defeat for Germany.

    Yussuf Poulsen played the full 90 minutes against Panama.

    Yussuf came on in the 79th minute.

    Emil played the majority of the game being subbed off just ten minutes before the end. 
     
  • Romania 1-0 Sweden
    Emil did not make an appearance.

STEFAN ILSANKER

  • Austria 3-0 Slovenia
    Stefan Ilsanker played the full 90 minutes in Austria's 3-0 win.
     
  • Luxembourg 0-4 Austria
    Ilsanker missed the game, having returned to Leipzig on Monday after suffering a knee strain. 

KEVIN KAMPL

  • Austria 3-0 Slovenia
    Kevin Kampl started against Austria and came off in the 76th minute of the match.
     
  • Slovenia 0-2 Belarus
    The midfielder started the game and was subbed off in the 69th minute. 

PÉTER GULÁCSI

  • Hungary 2-3 Kazakhstan
    Our goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi played the entire game.
     
  • Hungary 0-1 Scotland
    Péter played the full 90 minutes.

    The 21-year-old was captain for the game and played the full 90 minutes.

    Lookman did not feature.

    Ademola was subbed on in the 73rd minute.

DAYOT UPAMECANO & JEAN-KÉVIN AUGUSTIN

U21 EURO qualification:

  • Kazakhstan U21 0-3 France U21 
    Jean-Kévin Augustin played from start to finish against Kazakhstan and scored the second goal. Dayot Upamecano came on after half-time.
     
  • Montenegro U21 0-2 France U21
    Both Frenchmen played the full game and our forward Augustin netted a penalty to get France's second.
