World Cup preparation and European qualifiers were on the agenda during the March international break. All 32 teams taking part in the summer's tournament in Russia tested the water during the last week or so, while U21 teams were after important points in their quest to qualify for the European Under-21 Championship in Italy.
Marcel Sabitzer was not involved after tearing a ligament in his ankle during the match against FC Bayern München. Naby Keita was also forced to withdraw from international duty with a bruised spine.
Stefan Ilsanker also pulled out of Austria's squad with a knee strain.
